Episode 3 of “Supergirl,” titled “Fight or Flight," finally sees Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) on her one-on-one interview with National City’s superhero. Meanwhile, Superman’s nemesis is back to seek vengeance and sees an opportunity through his cousin Kara Danvers/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). [Spoiler Alert!]

The synopsis for episode 3 of “Supergirl” provided by Cartermatt.com mentions how the young hero’s powers will be tested with the arrival of another nemesis. One of Superman’s daunting enemies, Reactron, arrives on National City and targets Supergirl.

“Supergirl” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg described Reactron during an interview with Variety as Superman’s old nemesis. The two have reportedly been going against each other through the years.

“Next episode sees the arrival of Reactron, who is a Superman villain who has fought with Superman over the years and neither has ever been able to beat the other, and now he’s decided that the best way to get Superman is to come to town and kill Kara,” he said.

A preview for “Fight or Flight” (scroll down for video) shows Reactron barging in through what seems to be CATCO’s party for the unveiling of her exclusive expose on Supergirl. Kara happens to be in the same party and is surprised to see the villain.

Apparently, Reactron has found ways to get Supergirl’s attention by creating havoc in National City. Another scene from the episode 3 preview shows the pair facing off on a road filled with toppled cars and vehicles. Supergirl’s powers will definitely be tested; after all, Reactron is clearly more powerful and stronger than her.

However, Kreisberg teased that Supergirl will not allow herself to be defeated by Reactron. He said that in “Fight or Flight,” Reactron will regret ever messing up with the young heroine.

“Kara is in no mood to be treated as someone who can be taken out because they think she’s easier to take down than Superman,” Kreisberg told Variety.

Kreisberg also mentioned how Cat’s interview with Supergirl in episode 3 does “not go exactly as planned.” However, he didn’t reveal any supporting details.
