The "Supernatural" Season 9 holiday break will give fans enough time to get over the fact that Kevin (Osric Chau) is gone. However, the latest spoiler reports claim that a familiar face is on the way to appear in the second half of the CW TV series when it returns on January 2014.

Entertainment Weekly has the scoop on the return of actor DJ Qualls in "Supernatural" Season 9 as hunter Garth Fitzgerald as well as other characters. It looks like the question of "What happened to Garth?" will finally be answered.

The spoiler report reads: "While we all know that Dean has a hard task in front of him dealing with Kevin's death and also tracking down Gadreel - but in lighter news, I hear the second half will see the return of Garth (DJ Qualls). We're going to get an answer about where the heck he's been and I think you will be surprised. Spoiler alert: There will be hugs. Elsewhere, and on an unrelated note, I hear the second half will see some people we absolutely did not expect to see. More on that shortly."

In a previous report, actor DJ Qualls has hinted about his return to "Supernatural" Season 9 via Twitter post to Jared Padalecki last August. "@jarpad I'm in your town. Won't get to see you this trip, but just heard I'll be spending some time with you this fall. Stoked," wrote Mr Qualls on his Twitter account @TheOnlyDJQualls.

According to the MStars News report, the hint about seeing some people that the viewers may not expect to see could refer to a deceased character appearing once again in the TV series. After all, any "Supernatural" character can suddenly pop up just like Bobby Singer, Charlie Bradbury, Jo, Ash and Pamela.

The Cartermatt.com report weighs in as well on the return of familiar faces in the show. "That is part of the benefit that comes out of having eight seasons in the can; you have an enormous library of people (dead and alive) who can come back into Sam and Dean's life," reads the repor.

The Winchester brothers, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles), will return in "Supernatural" Season 9 with Episode 10 titled "Road Trip." The exciting episode is scheduled to air on January 14, 2014 at 8 p.m. central time on the CW network.
