Taiwan Gets Galaxy Note 3 First, Release Date of 3rd-Gen Samsung Phablet on Sept 27?
There is no question that Samsung is going for the grand Galaxy Note 3 launch on Sept 4 but a new report suggests the actual release date is on Sept 27 and buyers in Taiwan are getting the freshly-minted phablet first.
Citing Chinese news site ETrade as its source, Gotta Be Mobile reported that pre-orders of the Note 3 commences on Sept 16 with a maximum of 10 days as waiting time, which places the device's release date on Sept 27.
The report, however, clarified that the specific case, speculative as it is, is applicable only in Taiwan, also the homebase of numerous mobile device makers like Acer, Asus and HTC plus gadget contractors for Apple and Samsung.
But it could not be discounted too that Samsung would opt for simultaneous commercial debuts that span the various continents and likely candidates are South Korea and Singapore in Asia, New York in North America and the UK in Europe.
The same GBM report also claimed that the Note 3 is tipped for an early rollout in the Eurozone via the UK market, which could happen immediately after the Sept 4 launch in Berlin or within the same timeframe of the purported Taiwan distribution.
This develops as more Note 3 clues start to break out, one of them a picture showing off the device looking like its Sammy sibling but with a bigger screen and the bezels pushed too close to the left and right margin, making for quite a massively-rendered display screen.
The supersized smartphone is also believed to beam out a 1080p resolution on its 5.68-inch screen, which is powered by an 8-core Exynos CPU or a Snapdragon 800 chip, the deployment of which depend on market destination.
An earlier report has suggested that some markets like the United Kingdom will get the two CPU flavours while most countries, the U.S. in particular, are limited to the Snapdragon serving. Select markets like China will exclusively access the Exynos-powered Note 3 with dual-SIM features.
Jelly Bean 4.3, the latest Android build, is also expected to jump right out of the box with the Note 3 plus to specific killer features - a 13MP main cam shooter and a more-improved S-Pen that should highlight many of the Smart and sensor-driven features introduced via the Galaxy S4.
Amidst the wild talks surrounding the definitive Galaxy Note 3 release date, Samsung is likely to push out the device anytime between late Sept and early October 2013. No specific is provided at the moment but the best clue so far is the $299 offered by major U.S. telcos that comes with a 2-year lock-in period.
