Tapping Unknown Features in iPhone 4S’s iOS 5
Apple's iOS 5 has hidden features that will make it easier to navigate the iPhone 4S and other Apple devices running the newest mobile oeprating system .
Siri is an exclusive feature to the iPhone 4S. However, users with other Apple devices can still enjoy most of the features of iOS 5.
Here are some of the unknown features of iOS 5:
Launch camera easily - You can easily launch your camera by double-clicking the Home button while the iPhone is locked and a camera icon will appear. Tap it to take a photo in seconds.
Focus lock - The built-in Camera app now lets users lock focus on a subject. You hold a finger on the subject until the focusing square flashes. You should tap elsewhere to remove it.
Shutter button - The volume button of iPhone can now act as a shutter button to the camera.
Create flashing alerts - You can create a flashing alert to notify you of a phone call or a Facebook update; your phone can alert you by flashing its rear LED, which is otherwise used as a camera flash.
Customized alert tones- iPhone users can select different sounds for alerts such as text messages, tweets and reminders. iTunes also offer new alert sounds.
Customized notifications menu- The Notifications drop-down menu can be customized in Settings. You can prioritize alerts, remove apps (like stock prices), and decide how they look on screen.
Messaging shortcuts - Have a list of favorite phrases? You can enter them into the phone as shortcuts, triggered by just a few letters for example "ily" for "I love you."
Customized vibration - In the new iOS 5, users can direct how the iPhone will vibrate. Users must engage the option and tap on the screen to record a physical tune.
Message received - If you send an iMessage to a fellow user, you can tell whether they had received it, read it and when they are replying. A Send Read Receipts option is in Settings.
Common knowledge - If you're using iCloud contacts and an iPhone 4S, you can name your relatives to Siri mother, father, etc and she will recall them. Yes, Siri is a female.
