Are the Rhode Island residents singing "I Knew You Were Trouble" to Taylor Swift? The 24-year-old singer is reportedly causing trouble and annoyance as she builds a wall in front of her $US18 million dollar home that will border the public's access to the beach.

In the Daily News report, the Westerly Sun paper claims the Rhode Island residents are disturbed with the construction project on Ms Swift's home situated on a public beach. It appears to be bad to the point that numerous phone calls were claimed to be placed to state and local officials complaining about the project.

Harbor Land Revocable Trust, the official owner of Taylor Swift's property submitted an application of the project describing the project activities as "resetting boulders and repairing a concrete seawall, not adding more boulders or otherwise altering the coastline." The News.com.au reports the pop superstar builds her rock sea wall out of boulder-sized rocks pulled out of the ocean with the use of cranes even though the place is still a public beach.

David Collins, a reporter for The Day in Connecticut, tried to look for the project permits at a council meeting but he discovered a trail of red tape instead that appears to only for those capable of buying an $18 million worth home in cash. The report reads: "A permit fee for that type of construction in Watch Hill would typically call for the holder to pay the town around eight bucks per thousand dollars spent. Swift, who did not have to acquire said permit, is spending - per the estimation of Building Official David Murphy - multiple millions of dollars on her wall."

To make matters worse, Taylor Swift had security guards in the area and the Rhode Island's Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC) keeping a strict eye on the project. "They are doing just what they said they would be doing," stated CRMC spokeswoman Laura Dwyer to The Sun.

The spokeswoman further added that "none of the changes should affect access to the public beach for surfers." It appears the construction project will be completed soon making Taylor Swift ready to "have the beach all to herself" while locals search for another area where they can enjoy their stay at the beach.

The representative of the young blonde singer has not given any comment yet regarding the Rhode Island wall construction issue.
