Taylor Swift Turns Over to the Dark Side, Goes Brunette for 'The Giver'

Taylor Swift replaces her iconic blonde locks for the brunette look. Is this the "change" the country crooner was referring to in her InStyle magazine interview? Apparently, the whole new look is for Taylor Swift's new movie, "The Giver," which has ironically nothing to do with the "great change."

The "Red" singer was spotted over the weekend rocking the dark look. Before "Swifties" react to Swift's drastic hair change, fret not because it was only a wig. Taylor is set to star in the film "The Giver" where her character has dark hair. The photo that circulated on the web of Swift with dark locks was simply a wig. Swift was seen at Cape Town, South Africa for production.

Joining Swift for the film are Brenton Thwaits, Odeya Rush, Katie Holmes, Alexander Skarsgard, Meryl Streep and Cameron Monaghan.

"The Giver has always been a favorite book of mine and my kids," said Harvey Weinstien, TWC Co-Chairman, adding, "We could not have assembled a more impressive cast for this project behind Lois Lowry's beautiful novel and the directorial talents of Phil Noyce, and are tremendously excited to commence production."

Swift is set to take on the part of Rosemary, "The Giver's" daughter. As for something else that's new with Swift, the country crooner recently released the song, "Sweeter than Fiction" which is the song that plays for the closing credits of "One Chance."

Like her famous ex-boyfriend Harry Styles and BFF Selena Gomez, Swift has found the balance between making music and filming scenes for movies. "The Giver" is just another film to add to the Grammy-award winners' comprehensive list of accomplishments.
