Taylor Swift will not be releasing a 2016 album
The record label working with the pop-country songstress shoots down the rumours
Taylor Swift's record label, Big Machine, has denied the rumours that the 26-year-old blonde diva will be releasing an album in October. The head of the label, Scott Borcheta, responded to a tweet by a fan, who linked a page claiming the said rumours.
"Nope," Borcheta typed in capital letters. The tweet has been deleted. However, users who managed to capture a screenshot are sharing it around Twitter and on other social media sites.
According to Entertainment Weekly, if the CEO of Big Machine is correct, the cycle of Taylor's album release will take a massive change. The "How You Get the Girl" singer first released her self-titled debut album on Oct. 24, 2006. She followed up with "Fearless" on Nov. 11, 2008 and "Speak Now" on Oct. 25, 2010. "Red" debuted on Oct. 22, 2012, and her latest album, "1989," on Oct. 27, 2014.
The pattern seemed to work well for the Billboard chart-topper. Aside from her multiple Grammy Awards and nominations, her albums since 2006 had been released in deluxe edition and in platinum. Her fifth album has sold over 6 million copies in the US.
Reports claimed that Borcheta might either be telling the truth or keeping the album release a secret from the public. Perez Hilton commented that Taylor deserved a break after going on tour worldwide since the release of "1989." A writer from Cosmopolitan speculated that the hit-maker might be "too busy living her best life" with Tom Hiddleston. Ever since their photos rose on the Internet, T-Swift and the 35-year-old "Thor" villain have been more invested in their relationship.
Fans have known Taylor for releasing an album every two years in the fall. This led them to believe that the singer will release something when October comes.
