'Teen Wolf' spoilers: Tyler Posey teases season 5B will feature lighter tone, but things will go downhill very fast
Since August, fans have been waiting for the return of the second half of “Teen Wolf” Season 5. Ahead of the MTV series’ Season 5B premiere, Tyler Posey promises that the new season will inject some of the lightness shown in the show’s first season, although chaos would soon reign over the beloved characters.
The first half of “Teen Wolf” Season 5 featured gripping and dark moments where Posey’s character Scott McCall faced various challenges and lost his pack. Scott also died in the last episode of Season 5A but was brought back to life by Melissa, played by Melissa Ponzio. The upcoming Season 5B will still have exciting moments, although Posey shared in an interview with The Wrap that it will also have a much lighter tone.
In The Wrap interview, he described “Teen Wolf” as a “unique show,” given its “unique tone.” Posey added, “What’s really cool is that we take the tonality back to Season 1. Which was really fun. But then it all goes to s--- really fast. It’s hard to balance that comedy and chaos.”
Posey also teased that Season 5B will be a “great season” for the hit MTV series. “It’s got everything you want, everything you need,” he told The Wrap. “Scott’s got some really cool stuff, and a really cool comeback. There’s a great villain.”
The upcoming season 5B will also feature a new shapeshifter and a big bad Beast, which Posey described in a previous interview as an “ominous” and “scary” creature. Apart from these characters, a few familiar faces have also re-joined the “Teen Wolf” cast such as Michael Hogan as Gerard Argent, Gideon Emery as Deucalion and J.R. Bourne as Chris Argent.
When The Wrap asked how Posey felt about working with these actors again, he stated that it was “great” to have them back on the “Teen Wolf” set. “A lot of them are my friends,” he explained. “It’s nice having Michael back on set ... It kind of reminds me of old times, because the last time we had Michael on set, I was 20 ... It’s cool to see how we’ve progressed and how far we’ve come.”
“Teen Wolf” premiered in the US on a new timeslot at 9 pm on MTV.
