'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' teaser trailer teases inter-dimensional portal

A new teaser trailer of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2” has been released online. The trailer shows an inter-dimensional portal opening in the sky in the middle of New York City and Casey Jones looking at his mask at the back of his car’s trunk.

“What is that?” April O’Neil (Megan Fox) asks looking at the portal in the sky. The main villain in the movie is a character called Krang. In the cartoon series of the franchise, Krang is a warlord from Dimension X. The character appears as a brain with eyes, mouth and tentacles for hands.

Krang commands an army of rock soldiers in Dimension X and while on earth, he tries to return home. He supports Shredder in his quest for power and helps him take on the Turtles. A picture of Krang toy posted on Collider, shows that Krang will come with a robotic body, just as he did in the cartoon series.

Krang sits inside the stomach of the robot and operates it from there. Shredder (Brian Tee) will also have his own mutant henchmen in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.” The warthog-like mutant Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and the rhinoceros-like mutant Rocksteady (Stephen Farrelly) will make their debut in the movie.

Both Bebop and Rocksteady appeared in the cartoon series of the franchise. Although they are physically strong, they were shown to be having little intelligence. The characters were mostly used for comedy in the cartoon series.

The next full trailer of the movie will be released during the Super Bowl. It is still not clear if Krang will be shown in the trailer.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2” will also show the hockey stick wielding hero Casey Jones (Stephen Amell) meeting April and the Turtles for the first time. The Footclan will continue to be active; while the heroes will have their gadget filled Turtle Van to take on their enemies.
