Television’s 5 Best Actors of Today
Many successful actors started their career on TV (just ask Jennifer Aniston). The TV develops a more personal bond with the viewers. They see the actors every week and follow their characters from the intimate distance of their living rooms.
That is why when a TV actor is good, he IS good. Here is my own top 5 TV actors that every couch potato must watch.
Michael C. Hall
Vigilante serial killer - sounds cold and detached. This is what Michael Hall becomes in Dexter, a crime-drama series where he plays the titular character Dexter Morgan. Morgan's twisted views on life and humanity makes you step back and think what to feel towards him. And Hall does it effortlessly, which explains the Golden Globe award for Best Actor he won in 2012.
Steve Buscemi
Steve Buscemi is not new when it comes to playing maleficent characters. His role as criminal boss Nucky Thompson in the critically acclaimed TV series Boardwalk Empire is a fine example of what Buscemi's specialty. Thompson's smooth demeanor belies a cold interior. Mess with him and he won't hesitate to - as he once said - put a f*kin bullet in your head. Buscemi shot his way right to a Best Actor award in the 2011 Golden Globes.
Hugh Laurie
Quirky. Misanthropic. Mischievous. At the masterful hands of Hugh Laurie, eponymous House becomes a character every fan would love - or hate, depending on your moral bearings. Hugh Laurie is the bullseye actor to play Dr. House; Laurie IS House, which is why it's quite disorienting to see him play other characters.
Jon Hamm
Let Jon Hamm take you to a tour of 1960s American advertising in Mad Men, where ideas and egos clash with irreverent gusto. Playing as the troubled advertising genius Dom Draper, Hamm shows the viewers the many ugly faces of advertising underneath its glorious façade.
Peter Dinklage
Ladies and gentlemen, take your hats off to Peter Dinklage, the Emmy Award-winning actor who brought back the grandeur of swords-and-kings genre of Game of Thrones. Dinklage was handpicked by author George RR Martin himself to play the mind-effing genius Tyrion the Imp. Watch the series and see yourself falling in line to the Tyrion fan's club.
