This week, two apps are up for launch, with Glide featuring live-stream video broadcasting and recording and AppSurfer giving you a taste of an app before installation.

Temple Run 2 also has a 1.1 version update, with more challenges and fixes.

Glide: Like TiVo for your IMs

Ever since the launch of video-based apps, it seems that nothing new could come out of the market. But this is where Glide surprises the public.

As it makes its debut, the app from three entrepreneurs with stakeholder backer Orey Gilliam former CEO of ICQ and former CEO of ooVoo Philippe Schwartz, it seems that Glide has found its niche: you can now enjoy both live and recorded videos at your convenience.

According to CNBC, Glide takes video messaging one step further, but allowing to recorded messages to be uploaded and broadcasted while the recording is taking place. This way, you can either catch the person on video or just watch the uploaded video when you need it.

This function has now patented streaming video technology to push with real-time video messaging. Among the features of Glide live broadcasting, group video messaging, autoplay, low bandwidth usage (tagged to be half of what is usually needed for video calls), allowed reaction in real-time while broadcast is ongoing, and cloud storage.

For the meantime, Glide is only available for the iPhone, but the company is in the works for an Android version.

Temple Run 2 version 1.1: More challenges on the run

The wildly popular follow-up to the equally raved about game Temple Run now has just received an update and has new features that would challenge your runs.

According to 9 to 5 Mac, daily and weekly challenges are now available so you can collect more gems and free coins. Plus, those with a competitive streak can challenge their friends in the Game Center to beat the top score.

Power-ups, which can extend the time for activated powers. Aside from all the additions, the update has also addressed bug fixes, for those having a hard time with their game.

A test run before installation with App Surfer

AppSurfer is now launching an Android application so that more users can browse through and test for themselves before installing the apps that they like.

Now users who want to know more about an app don't have to be limited to reviews, pre-recorded videos, or photos.

Other features of the app include sharing app demos in Facebook, accelerometer support, and support for tablet apps, reports TechCrunch. What this means is that users can showcase an app they like via Facebook where their friends can try it for themselves.
