Tennis couple Fabio Fognini and Flavia Pennetta take time off tennis court to attend Milan Fashion Week

Tennis couple Fabio Fognini and Flavia Pennetta showed their support for world-renowned fashion gurus Gorgio Armani and Salvatorre Ferragamo at Milan Fashion Week. Fognini and Pennetta were among the guests at the Spring Summer 2016 Women’s Collection Runway Show.

It seemed Fognini and Pennetta didn’t have trouble finding their costumes for the fashion show. Pennetta donned a red Ferragamo lace dress matched with a knit shawl, while her fiancé looked laid-back in his Armani outfit. The tennis stars served up aces in their trendy outfits and shared pictures from the event on Twitter.

The couple are passionate supporters of fashion events. In 2014, Fognini was also invited to the fashion house Armani’s event. Pennetta also usually graces Fashion Week whenever she gets the time off the tennis court.

Fognini and Pennetta last played at the 2015 U.S. Open. Fognini was Rafael Nadal’s conqueror in the third round of the grand slam event, but was eliminated in the fourth round after losing to Spanish left-hander Feliciano Lopez 6-3 7-6(5) 6-1. Pennetta’s campaign at Flushing Meadows was far more successful, and she eventually won the title after beating her childhood friend and compatriot Roberta Vinci in the finale 7-6(4) 6-2. It was Pennetta’s first grand slam win.

Penneta announced her retirement from tennis after her U.S. Open win, but she aims to continue and finish the 2015 tennis season.

Meanwhile, Fognini and Pennetta are expected to tie the knot in June 2016. It was reported that the ceremony will take place at Pennetta’s hometown in Brindisi. The reception will follow at Borgo Egnazia Fasano. Fognini and Pennetta have been engaged since February 2014.
