‘That’s So Raven’ reboot update: Twitter users are raving about Disney TV show’s comeback [VIDEO]
“The View” host Raven-Symoné became a hot topic this week after announcing that the Disney television that catapulted her to celebrity status is making a spin-off.
The 30-year-old celebrity revealed that she’s soon leaving the “The View” later this year to devote her time on the reboot of “That’s So Raven.” She hyped the ante before dropping the bombshell, saying that she’s excited and sad about a new development. “No, I’m not pregnant,” she jokes. “We’re doing a ‘That’s So Raven II’ – with no real title. There’s no title yet. I’m very excited.”
Symoné then divulged a bit of a spoiler of what the show is all about. She said she’s going to reprise her role, Raven Baxter, who’s now all grown up. “I’m actually going to be a single mother, raising two kids,” she revealed. “And one of them is going to learn that she has visions.” Fans of “That’s So Raven” would remember Symoné’s character, a high school student, is gifted with psychic powers.
Fans of the show immediately took to Twitter to express their excitement over this news.
Unfortunately, Raven usually misinterprets her visions and does irrational and hilarious things to stop them from happening or make sure they come true. Making her crazy life even more exciting are her parents Tanya (T'Keyah Crystal Keymáh) and Victor (Rondell Sheridan), her mischievous brother Corey (Kyle Massey), as well as her friends Chelsea (Anneliese van der Pol) and Eddie (Orlando Brown).
The Emmy-nominated series made its debut on the Disney Channel in 2003 and aired its last episode in 2007. “That’s So Raven,” which was Disney’s first show to hit 100 episodes, had a spin-off series, “Cory in the House ,” featuring “Dancing With The Stars” Season 11 runner-up Massey.
Scott Thomas and Jed Elinoff are set to produce the spin-off, according to a report by Entertainment Weekly. Casting is going on, and there’s no news yet whether Symoné’s former co-stars would also return in the reboot.
