Chris Hemsworth appeared on “The Graham Norton Show” on Friday where he revealed he has difficulty researching for new roles because he gets recognized everywhere as Thor, his famous superhero character, even in prison.

The Australian actor, who played the lead in Ron Howard’s “In The Heart of the Sea,” also recently starred in the film “Blackhat.” In the clip, Hemsworth recalls visiting an undisclosed prison for the latter before accepting the title role for the film. He assumed that inmates do not get to watch a lot of movies in prison and that his plan was to try to blend in.

“I was researching a film, and we had to go in and basically see what the inside of a prison looks like, speak with prisoners who were willing to talk to us,” he explained.

He said that he was still rocking the same long, blond hair in the “Thor” films at that time and attempted to go unnoticed with the help of a hat. Unfortunately, one of the wardens did not allow him to wear it.

He said that he was a little worried about walking in on a bare face without a disguise, but thought that maybe inmates would not recognize him either way because they were not able to watch his “Thor” films.

Apparently, the inmates were able to watch his films as they yelled, “Yo! Thor’s here, man. Where’s your hammer, man? Yo, come spend some time in my cell, baby!”

Last year, Hemsworth was regarded by People magazine as the Sexiest Man Alive. Before his big break in Hollywood, he was known as Kim Hyde in the Australian TV series “Home and Away.” Outside his Marvel films, he has starred in “Star Trek” in 2009, “Snow White and the Huntsman” in 2012, and “Rush” in 2013.
