The boys of One Direction might have a bit of inspiration from Katy Perry and Justin Bieber with regards to the title of their upcoming film.

Despite having announced early this year that the One Direction movie coming out this summer is "1D3D", Niall, Liam, Louis, Zayn and Harry did a minor change. Instead of "1D3D", the boys decided on "This Is Us" which resembles Michael Jackson's late movie title, "This Is It."

What changed the minds of the boys and director Murdock to flip from "1D3D" to such a clichéd title? Well, the boys simply wanted something that would stick to the minds of their fans. If Katy Perry had "Part of Me" and Bieber had "Never Say Never", the One Direction boys wanted the same thing.

Fans aren't the only ones excited for the film because even Niall Horan had excitedly announced the title change of the movie on Twitter. This goes to show that the boys are very much looking forward to the film as well.

"How exciting is this! #1D3D title is on the way! Hope you all like it! Lot of thought gone into it," tweeted Niall, while Payne added, "guyssss so proud to announce that our upcoming movie is officially titled 'This Is Us'! Cant wait for you guys to see itttt!!"

"This is Us" was unveiled to fans after they were sent on a scavenger hunt across the web. The boys handed out clues of the movie's title on their official Twitter account. "Directioners" were asked to track down parts of the puzzle that would lead them to the title of the One Direction movie.

So what exactly does "This is Us" play homage to? The One Direction movie is all about the boys' rise to stardom, the boys' world tour, the perks plus downsides of being in a boy band and all the drool-worthy scenes of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles.

As for those looking forward to seeing a bit of "Haylor" in the film, Harry Styles had requested all footage of Taylor Swift hanging out with the boys be deleted. "This is Us" is set to be released this summer.
