New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady is denying any allegations in his own involvement in the under-inflation of footballs found in the game versus the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship Game. Reports are stating that 11 of 12 footballs were under the standard set by the National Football League (NFL) and an on-going investigation is ongoing in the controversy called “Deflate-Gate”.

"I was as surprised as anybody when I heard Monday morning what was happening," Brady said in the press conference echoing head coach Bill Belichick’s statement earlier on Thursday. "I feel like I have always played within the rule. I would never break the rules.”

"This isn't ISIS, this isn't, you know, no one's dying," Brady also said. "But you know, we'll get through this and hopefully we can really start preparing for Seattle and, you know, get our mind focused there, because they're going to take, you know, all my mental energy for the next 10 days."

The team personnel who will be found guilty could face a stiff fine of $25,000 plus other penalties depending on the league’s final evaluation. In 2007, the Patriots and Belichick were fined a total of $750,000 for their participation in “Spy-Gate” when the New England squad was found to have been stealing defensive signals during an opponents’ practice sessions.

Brady was forceful in saying that he had no knowledge of the under-inflation nor he knew there was something different about the balls used during the game. "I'm not squeezing them, that's not part of my process," Brady said. "I grab it. I feel the lace, the leather. I feel the tack on the ball. That's really what you go for."

NFL experts reaction to Brady’s latest press conference have been varied with some calling out the star quarterback for not taking the blame and taking one for the team while others are pessimistic that Brady was telling the truth about the matter. Like Brady, his head coach denied any wrongdoing.

“I don’t have an explanation for what happened. I’ve told you all that I can tell you from my point of view. Anything coming from the investigative side from the league needs to be directed towards them,” Belicheck said also on Thursday. Both the Patriots head coach and quarterback stated that they will fully cooperate with the league investigation although Brady also said that the league has yet to contact him about the matter.

The league has yet to release an official ruling on the investigation but said that it will be finished within a week or just days before Super Bowl XLIX where the Patriots meet the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL title game.
