‘True Detective’ Season 2 Premiere: Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell And Rachel McAdams Characters Under Microscope (Spoilers)
“True Detective” Season 2 premieres this Sunday, June 21, on HBO. The trio of Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell and Rachel McAdams is expected to be heavily compared to Season 1 actors Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Reviews are already in from some writers who already saw the first three episodes.

According to spoiler reports, Farrell’s character, Ray, has to deal with the idea that his wife was raped and his son – or the kid he believed to be his – may have come from a different father. McAdams is playing Ani, a knife-wielding sheriff whose life is filled with family drama. Vaughn is portraying Frank Semyon, the person of interest.
One of Frank’s business partners is brutally murdered, and this happens just when he was starting to cleanin up his mess as a career criminal. The first episode of “True Detective” Season 2 does not drop jaws, according to early reviews. It remains to be seen how the audience would react.
“True Detective” Season 2, episode 1 is called “The Western Book of the Dead.” Episode 2 is titled, “Night Finds You.” Justin Lin (“Fast and Furious”) directed the sophomore season’s first and second episodes.
“The disappearance of a city manager disrupts a lucrative land scheme and ignites an investigation involving three police officers and a career criminal who is moving into legitimate business,” reads the HBO release on “True Detective” Season 2, episode 1.
Taylor Kitsch is also part of “True Detective” Season 2. TV Guide is saying there is a twist in the third episode that could point to the relevance of Kitsch’s role.
The first season of “True Detective” drew an approval rating of 84% from the critics at RottenTomatoes.com. It got an audience score of 97% with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5.
