‘Twin Peaks’ season 3: Writer Harley Peyton talks about the show
“Twin Peaks” season will hit the small screens in May and the fans are all excited about the revival after almost after 26 years. Writer Harley Peyton, who has written several episodes for the previous seasons, recently talked about the show with fans and made several revelations.
The story of the third season has been kept under wraps by the makers as they do not want to spoil the suspense even a bit. Nobody knows how the story will proceed. Even some of the actors including Michael Bisping, who worked in season 3 for a minor role, stated that the plot was not revealed to him and he was only told about the relevance of the scene he was acting in. One of the fans asked Peyton if he knew about the murder mystery as to who killed Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee), the writer said that David Lynch and Mark Frost didn’t reveal it for the longest time. “It remained a mystery almost up until the moment David and Mark had Ray Wise come into David's office for a 'chat.'” The mystery will only be unveiled in the following season.
When asked about his expectations from “Twin Peaks” season 3, Peyton said that he was thrilled to have the show back on TV. Furthermore, he said that the excitement is even more because they’re “getting a surprising number of episodes.” The third season will reportedly have 18 one-hour-long episodes.
When asked as to when he was told about the revival of the show, he said, “Mark called to let me know that after all these years, there was going to be another season, etc. But given that the scripts were all penned by David and Mark - and whom could complain about that? - I defaulted to fan mode,” Harley Peyton answered on Reddit.
“Twin Peaks” season 3 will air on May 21 at 9PM ET on Showtime in the US. In Australia, the show will be streamed on Stan at the same time, which is at 1PM on May 22.
