NBC introduced on Wednesday Walden Schmidt, the character Ashton Kutcher will portray in the series that will replace Charlie Sheen's, and fans are reacting quite negatively about it.

One day after NBC announces the new "Two and a Half Men" character that will replace Charlie Harper, fans are already expressing their disappointment about it. Ashton Kutcher is billed to play Walden Schmidt, a "business savvy internet billionaire with a broken heart" and replace Charlie Sheen's leading role as Charlie Harper. The character revelation was held at the Television Critics Association Press tour, an event Kucther failed to attend.

Believed to be quite the antithesis of the womanizer Harper, Schmidt is a close mirror of Ashton Kutcher's real life, with his success in social networking and his personal endeavors (minus Demi Moore). Sheen was fired from the cast back in March due to the actor's drug and alcohol binge. Sheen's character was treated with a sad ending, leading to a funeral attended by ex-girlfriends and such.

Although some might view Kutcher's addition as a "light at the end of the tunnel", hard core fans are reacting negatively. Yolie Garza from San Antonio, Texas, USA says "Two and a Half Men is one of my favorite series and I hate to say (that) without Charlie Sheen, there is "NO" Two and a Half Men anymore". Jeff Kent from Cincinnati suggests "without Sheen there is no series. Cancel it", while another whimpers "Is the show going to be '1 Man and a Half' now?" Others are even implying that the series is "doomed without Charlie Sheen".
