Life goes on Under The Dome. The residents of Chester’s Mill have struggled to lead a normal life amidst the invisible barrier that separates them from the outside world. Episode 3 of the sci-fi thriller begins with the scene of the town’s teens gathering like any ordinary night before the big dome came that changed their lives overnight.

Led by best friends Joe Collins and Benny, the teens gathered around their usual spot, doing their usual stuff - - listening to music, skateboarding and just fooling around, sneaking some pack of beers. This scene established Joe finding his love interest in Norrie, the daughter of the entertainment lawyer Carolyn Hill who was trapped in Chester’s Mill with her partner. Later Norrie asked to crash in Joe’s place - - since Joe’s parents weren’t around, the whiz kid and his best friend, Benny got excited at the thought of a pretty lady in his house.

Whiz kid, Joe was seen watching the footage of Deputy Paul caught firing that killed Freddy. The video featured Barbie stopping Paul and helping cops manhandled him to the police station.

The residents of the Chester’s Mill got a little unruly upon seeing Paul with the gun, thinking he had something to do with Freddy’s death. Big Jim stepped in and since he was the only councilman left at the isolated town, he deemed it fit that it was right for him to step up and take leadership, especially now that Duke Perkins, the Chief of Police Department is dead.

He enjoined everyone to go home, “with hands clasped” and pray for Freddy’s soul and for everyone in the community amid the chaos that befell them.

Then came the jail scene with Paul locked up by Linda Esquivel (Natalie Martinez). Knowing she has a soft heart despite the strength she was putting on amidst the crisis, Paul decided to trick her by pretending to have asthma attack. He hit Linda and locked her up as soon as he got the chance. Carrying the police department’s rifles, Paul decided to run and the manhunt began.

Then came Jim who instigated the manhunt “to take Paul, not bring him in.” Rennie was able to gather able-bodied man from the diner to join him look for Paul at the woods, where his car was found unattended. He saw Barbie, or Dale “Barbie” Barbara ( Mike Vogel) and approached him to join them, too. Barbie obliged. Paul was killed in the process, when Linda saw him pointing a gun against Big Jim. Not knowing that Paul was reacting to what he heard form Big Jim that he was out to get him and no justice really awaits him back at the police station. Big Jim got what he wanted. Linda was told she was to be Chester Mill’s new sheriff, now that Duke is dead.

Before the manhunt, Big Jim had a confrontation with his son, Junior Rennie, another amazing character in Under the Dome. Big Jim demanded to know where Junior while he was leading the town people. He told Junior to step up like a man should. The scene provided a clearer view of Junior’s relationship with his dad - - which is not very pleasant.

And Junior seemed to take it out on everything outside his home. He continued to lock up his girlfriend, Angie at the nuclear bunker found at the back of his house. Angie, didn’t let this eat her up as she tried to cope with being imprisoned by the man she once loved. She found a radio at the bunker and she got herself updated by the town’s daily grind since the Dome came. With a great head over her shoulders, Angie hatched out a plan to make Junior believe they have another shot at their romance if he finds a way out. The lover then set out to the old cement factory where they used to sneak out as young couple in the hopes that there’s light under the tunnel.

“Everything is going to go back the way it was before as soon as we get out [under the dome],” Junior promised Angie.

The local journalist, Julia, saw Junior rushing to the old cement factory and followed him. Junior didn’t like it a bit but she had to show herself to save Junior from hurting himself. With Julia’s warning, Junior avoided the flashlight when it exploded. Also with Julia’s help, and her matches, the two was able to find their way out and go home. She was dropping him off when he saw his dad Big Jim in the company of his newfound nemesis, Barbie. The tension between them could be felt miles away as Junior gets passed Barbie. By this time, Julia had already been warned of the army veteran when Junior told him it was Barbie who gave him the bruises back at the tunnel.

Julia grew more doubtful of Barbie. She confronted him back at the house. Barbie stayed with Julia the second night after the Big Dome arrives, despite the rumors flying around Chester’s Mill that Barbie is staying with a married woman. Julia is married to the man, Barbie just killed. But of course, Julia still doesn’t know about this at this point. Barbie remained steadfast and insisted he was just passing through the local county when he too was trapped under it. Julia almost believed him as he hit the shower, only to find the map with red mark in Chester’s Mill county.

How will Julia confront Barbie about the map she found in his bag. This isn’t the first time Barbie lied to her. It was the dog tags.

Episode 3 ended with Julia’s discovery of Barbie’s map and a touching scene of Julia’s discover Sheriff Linda covering her face with Duke’s hat she found at the Sheriff’s office when she was cleaning up. More changes at the Chester’s Mill on Season 1 Episode 3 of CBS ‘Under the Dome.’
