Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4 rolls out at US$179.99 on Amazon
Samsung is now selling its unlocked Galaxy S4 smartphone on Amazon for US$179.99 (approx. AU$259). The shipping facilities for home delivery of the phone will be available for free of charge.
Samsung has rolled out the certified and refurbished Galaxy S4 phones that work and look like a brand new handset. Customers can get other relevant accessories supplied to them with the device. The sale of the product comes with a 90-day warranty period so that dissatisfied customers can exchange any defective product with a new one from Samsung. However, the shipment does not include a SIM card or headphones inside the package, reports BGR.
The Galaxy S4 display screen measures 5.0 inches in size with super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen used for it. Protected by Corning Gorilla glass 3, the S4’s display screen has 16M colours for it. It is based on an Android v4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system and is powered by a quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A15 and quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-a7 processor. The device has an Exynos 5 octa 5410 chipset inside.
The phone comes with a 13MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture size and an autofocus along with a LED flash technology to it. On the other hand, the front-camera has a 2MP camera sensor with an f/2.4 aperture size. Apart from the camera, the phone uses a Li-ion 2600mAH battery size that offers up to 17 hours of talk-time and up to 370 hours of standby time, reports GSM Arena.
According to Amazon, unlocked smartphones are compatible with GSM SIM cards and GSM carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T. However, unlocked cell phones are not compatible with CDMA carriers like Boost, Verizon, Sprint and Virgin.
Users who have any qualms regarding the unlocked Galaxy S4 should know that the certified refurbished device is tested and certified before it is sold out to consumers in the market. The refurbishing process comprises of inspection, repackaging and functionality testing of the Galaxy S4.
