Droid RAZR M and Sony Xperia 10 users may now use an unofficial CM 10 custom rom.

Although some users are content with the stock rom provided by the manufacturer installed in purchased smartphones, others are bored with it which leads to experimentation with more lively roms that can be installed or flashed to smartphones.

Many developers have created and developed custom roms or modified roms for several smartphones across the globe.

The custom rom installation requires some knowledge from the user about certain things and it basically has a guide on how to install the custom rom. For gadget owners who are concerned about bugs, the devices can be restored simply by installing back its stock rom available online.

CM10 Sony Xperia 10

This unofficial CM for Xperia 10 is in pre-alpha stage and the developer is open for any stuff to help improve the custom rom.

Things needed:

  • The CM10 ROM zip
  • Kernel for the device
  • Google Apps
  • CWM recovery

How to install

1. Download the copy of the custom rom, kernel, and CWM recovery (if none).

2. Copy all the downloaded files to the sd card.

3. Do not flash the 4.1 kernel just yet. Flash any other kernel that is working for CWM recovery using Flashtools. If kernel is already present, skip this step.

4. Boot into CWM recovery (back key repeatedly when kernel logo appears and notification led)

5. Perform a full wipe (wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition, and wipe dalvik cache in advance option)

6. Install the zip by choosing zip from sd card and then apply. Do the same thing with Google Apps zip.

7. Do not reboot, just power off the device with CWM recovery. If not supported, simply take off the battery and put it back.

8. Power the device and test it out.

Working features:

  • Gallery pics only
