UPDATE: Chris Brown now allowed to get closer to Rihanna
LA Judge, Patricia Schnegg eases Chris Brown’s restraining order
From 50 yards away to 10 yards in music gatherings, R&B singer, Chris Brown can now come go near ex-girlfriend, Rihanna as close as he wants to.
LA Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg has lifted the restraining order imposed by the court following his admission that he beat up then girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009.
But the judge pointed out in a brief hearing Tuesday that she would not have decided to downgrade the stay-away provisions had Rihanna not expressed her intent allowing Chris to come near her.
Though the Barbadian singer was not present at the LA court Tuesday, her lawyer, Donald Etra declared her position on her behalf.
The LA judge added that her decision also stem from Brown’s successful and commendable completion of the yearlong domestic violence counseling program that he was ordered by the court to undertake in.
Schnegg again praised Brown for his adherence in the process albeit it resulted by his own making when he attacked Rihanna after a pre-grammy specials in 2009.
Judge Schnegg noted that Brown has continued to show progress in completing the physical labor he was required to attend to in his hometown in Virginia.
Brown, all smiles, left the court with a one-page copy of the new order.
