Gareth Bale's playing time may be limited in his highly anticipated debut for Real Madrid because of a groin injury, sustained in international duty for Wales.

Despite being hurt, the Welshman was able to feature for 32 minutes in their losing effort against Serbia on Tuesday and nearly scored a goal through a free-kick.

Wales manager Chris Coleman is doubtful if Bale could play for a full 90 minutes against Villareal on Saturday.

If he starts Saturday, he will not finish the game. I would be amazed if he does," Coleman told fifa.com.

"We have looked at him in these ten days and he is nowhere near ready for 90 minutes even if Spanish football is slower. He may start, but he won't finish the game. He may get 45 minutes, I don't know, but he will feel better in himself after 30 minutes here."

Aside from Bale's injury, his lack of participation in practice could also play a factor to his upcoming performance for the Los Blancos.

It has been reported that the Welshman missed out training sessions at Tottenham when the transfer talks were ongoing as well as during his recent spell with his national team.

"But he has only had four training sessions in two months which is dangerous,"

"He played 30 minutes but after 15 minutes he looked tired - but he has only had four training sessions, so you will not get what you normally get. "

Nevertheless, Bale still provided a needed boost to Wales team that sits at the bottom of their group.

"But he gave us a lift, the fans were excited and it gave us a spur, although the game was done and dusted. We needed to be in the game when he came on. It was lost by then, but it was nice for the Welsh supporters to see him."

Thereafter, Bale posted his thoughts on Twitter and expressed his excitement to return to the Bernabeu.

"Great to finally get back to playing tonight, shame about the result though. Can't wait to get to Madrid tomorrow." Bale said via Twitter.
