Proud owners of the Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100G or the international variant can update their device to a fast and stable Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean SlimBean Build 5 ROM. It is based on CyanogenMod and provides enhancements for Galaxy S2 I9100G and features CPU tweaking, optimisations and fast charge support.

Warning: This is a custom ROM and only designed for Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100G. Developers are not liable for any damages which may occur on your device. Read and follow the instructions carefully to avoid damaging your phone. Do this at your own risk.

Requirements:

1. Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100G, USB cable and a computer.

2. Download and install Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100G drivers.

3. Install a custom recovery tool such as ClockworkMod or TWRP and create a backup of all your data and settings using one of those tools.

4. Enable USB debugging mode on your device. To do this, go to "Settings > Applications > Development.

5. The device must have at least 80 per cent battery level to avoid power interruption.

6. Your Galaxy S2 I9100G must be unlocked or not specified to a network carrier and should have been rooted.

7. Download the Official SlimBean Build 5 ROM and Google Apps package to your computer.

Flashing Instructions:

1. Connect your Galaxy S2 I9100G using a USB cable to your computer.

2. Copy the downloaded SlimBean ROM and the Google Apps package to the SD card of your device. Do not extract the zip files.

3. Turn off the phone and disconnect it from your computer.

4. Reboot into Recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume up + Power + Home keys together. Let go once the Samsung Logo appears.

5. Make a nAndroid backup to save the current ROM in case you want to restore it later. Go to "backup and restore > backup."

6. Go back to the main menu and select "wipe data/factory reset" and "wipe cache partition." Then in the main menu, select "advance > wipe dalvik cache."

7. After the full wipe, select "install zip from SD card > choose zip from SD card" in the main menu and choose the SlimBean ROM you have copied earlier. Confirm the installation and do the same process with the Google Apps package.

8. Once the installation is complete, go back the main menu and select "reboot system now." Wait for at least 5 minutes till the device boots for the first time.

Well done! Your Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100G is now Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with SlimBean custom ROM featuring light, fast and stable system.

If you want to restore back to the previous ROM, reboot into Recovery mode then select "backup and restore > restore."
