Every week sees a glut of new games released across Sony's three gaming platforms. There are no AA releases following last week's debut for "The Order: 1886." However, there's an intriguing new episodic entry in the "Resident Evil" series called "Resident Evil: Revelations 2 — Episode One," a handful of PS Vita exclusives, a beautiful new 2D fighter and more.

Posted on the official PlayStation Blog, the undisputed star of this week's show is Capcom's release of "Resident Evil: Revelations 2 — Episode One." The first in a four-episode series that tells two concurrently running stories, this game is something of an experiment for Capcom. The game is said to be closer in spirit to the slow, methodical pacing and shock horror of "Resident Evil" series.

"Resident Evil: Revelations 2 — Episode One" does not require gamers to play through the first game in the "Revelations" series, as story connections are tenuous at best. Gamers get access to two extra episodes for free if they purchase the entire season rather than a single episode at a time. The game is available on PS3 and PS4 and is a cross-buy for those who pre-ordered a copy of the game.

Other PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 titles scheduled for release include the 3D fighter, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse," which features destructible environments and allows players to fully customise their own warriors. The unusual indie couch competitive game "Starwhal" and sports simulator "Rugby 15" round out the cross-gen releases this week. PS3 exclusive 2D fighting game, "Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late," is a gorgeous, fast-paced new game from the folks behind "Guilty Gear" and "BlazBlue," while "Xevious 3D/G+" is this week's solitary PSOne Classic.

"Dynasty Warriors 8" is a PS4 exclusive entry in the long-running one-vs.-a thousand third-person action fighting games from Koei. The console also gets a long-awaited port of Xbox 360 and PC classic side-scrolling puzzle-platformer, "Limbo."

The PlayStation Vita gets its fair share of exclusive titles as well. Turn-based strategy game "Desert Ashes" and RPG strategy title "Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart" both make their debut. The latter is a spinoff of the popular "Hyperdimension Neptunia" series. Rounding out the Vita catalogue this week is a mysterious 2D side-scrolling puzzle game called "htoL#NiQ -The Firefly Diary-." As PlayStation Lifestyle points out in their coverage of the story, all dates are subject to change.
