Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) behaviour is now spiraling out of control in "The Vampire Diaries" season 5, episode 13 titled "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Can Stefan (Paul Wesley) save his brother from this destructive way of dealing with the split from Elena (Nina Dobrev), as Enzo (Michael Malarkey) continues to influence Damon?

Spoiler Alert: This feature contains major spoilers on "The Vampire Diaries" season 5, episode 13 "Total Eclipse of the Heart."

Katherine currently enjoys living her life in Elena Gilbert's body, and she has one plan in mind: to win back Stefan Salvatore.

In class, Caroline (Candice Accola) tells her best friends Elena and Bonnie (Kat Graham) that they will attend the Whitmore College Bitter Ball as single ladies. During their discussion, Bonnie notices the unfriendly student next to her doing a witchcraft spell on her pen.

Stefan got welcomed with Damon's mess in the Salvatore mansion including Aaron's (Shaun Sipos) dead body in the car trunk. "So Elena breaks up with you and your first instinct is to go on a killing spree, could you be any more predictable?" Stefan stated to Damon before Enzo entered the room and revealed they plan to track down Dr Wes Maxfield (Rick Cosnett) next.

Dr Wes Maxfield returns and he has a new guy to experiment on: Joey. Dr Maxfield needs funding for his Augustine vampires project and the new character Sloan (Caitlin McHugh) suddenly appears, offers help and even breaks the bad news to the doctor about Aaron's death.

At the Mystic Grill, Tyler (Michael Trevino) finally meets Nadia (Olga Fonda) through Matt (Zach Roerig) and the trio got engaged in a drinking game. Tyler declared that he needs to go to the bathroom, but he witnessed how Nadia compelled his best friend to fish out information from him about Enzo because Katherine is having a hard time living her life as Elena.

Bonnie and Jeremy (Steven R McQueen) were about to go to the Whitmore College Bitter Ball, but Damon and Enzo arrive to spoil their happiness and threat their lives if they don't help with their plan. The "Denzo" murder buddies want to find a witch that can perform a locator spell to find their elusive next target, Dr Maxfield.

Bonnie was able to convince the witch in her class named Liv Parker (Penelope Mitchell) to do the spell in order to save Jeremy. Meanwhile, Katherine is so busy and determined to win back Stefan's affection that she always forget what Elena would do, but Nadia is always a phone call away to remind her mother how to act, otherwise their secret will be noticed by her friends.

Damon and Enzo were able to track down Dr Maxfield, but the pair ended up as targets when the group of Travellers showed up including Sloan and performed an unknown spell that made the vampires weak. Dr Maxfield then injected something in Damon that made him kill Joey. "Okay, I can see how this might be a problem," Enzo declared in the ending scene.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 returns with episode 14 titled "No Exit" on Thursday night, Feb 27, at 8 pm ET on the CW Network.
