Spoiler Alert: This review recaps the highlights of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 Episode 3 "Original Sin."
Katherine and Elena have the same dream about Stefan.
Another connection was made between Katherine and Elena (Nina Dobrev) when they both have the same dream about Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) in a bar and attacking the bartender. Elena's dream about Stefan was able to convince Damon that the search for his missing brother should continue. Damon, Elena and Kartherine looked for the bar where Stefan showed up in the dream to find more clues that could lead them where exactly Stefan is.
The mysterious woman named Qetsiyah.
Her name is Qetsiyah but decided to be called Tessa and she is Silas' ex who managed to return from Purgatory to have her revenge on the man who broke her heart. Flashbacks to Ancient Greece showed Qetsiyah and Silas' love story but it was later on revealed that Silas was just using Qetsiyah for her power. The plot further thickens when Silas betrayed Qetsiyah because he loves another woman named Amara who looks exactly like Katherine and Elena.
Silas collaborates with Nadia.
Nadia (Olga Fonda) was able to earn Silas' trust after she killed fellow traveller and boyfriend named Gregor. However, Nadia still has plans of her own even after Silas ordered Nadia to kill Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig). It turns out Nadia was protecting Matt from Silas and she uses his body as Gregor in contacting Elena in order to find Katherine.
Stefan held captive by Qetsiyah.
Qetsiyah is keeping Stefan after saving him to use him as a connection to Silas when she performs a spell that will allow her to get into Silas' mind and weaken his mind control power. The spell worked at the scene where Nadia and Katherine came across Silas who tracked them and tried to kill Nadia.
Damon was able to find his brother, tries to break him free but Qetsiyah tries to convince Damon that she is doing it in order to put Silas to an end for good which is something that Damon wants. Qetsiyah successfully finished her spell and Stefan ended up unconscious with blood flowing from his eyes.
Obviously, what happened to his brother made Damon show off again his dark side and he tried to kill Qetsiyah but Damon ended up getting hurt since Qetsiyah is really powerful.
Is Damon having jealousy issues?
Elena reached the place where Qetsiyah kept Stefan and when Damon regained consciousness, he saw how Elena reacted after seeing Stefan again. Elena may have chosen to love Damon but her connection and concern with Stefan appears to be a force that can make Damon experience jealousy and even drive him away. Will Elena change her mind and return to Stefan's arms or prove to Damon that it is really him whom she loves?
The episode ending: its twist and turns.
