Some "Vampire Diaries" fans may be rooting for the Stefan-Caroline or "Steroline" romance and the actors who portray the characters have spoken up about the possibility of the two being more than just good friends. However, Paul Wesley (Stefan) and Candice Accola (Caroline) have different views when it comes to the "Steroline" romantic relationship.

Candice Accola revealed that her character, Caroline, is totally on the Team Stelena romance. "I think Caroline truly believes Stefan and Elena are supposed to be together, so I can't imagine her, at this time, trying to get in the way of that," the 26-year-old actress shared.

Ms Accola further added: "I can see why viewers of the show see a Caroline and Stefan connection of sorts; I don't think the characters themselves really think anything of it, if I had to jump into the Caroline brain. But I can see them growing as friends, it's really up to the writers where these characters are going to go."

Paul Wesley, on the other hand, had something else to say regarding the TVD on-screen pairing. "Yeah, I can see that happening and I think it will happen. It's been a very slow process. They like to really take their time with it. They've been sort of hinting at it and teasing it, but it hasn't materialized," Mr Wesley stated.

It seems the 31-year-old actor also wants the Stefan-Caroline romance to begin really soon. "Hopefully within this season. They don't have very much time left for Stefan and Caroline to get in the sack. That, I think, needs to happen," Paul teased.

If the Steroline romance does happen in Season 5, then there will be a problem because someone really attracted to Caroline will be returning to Mystic Falls. Actor Joseph Morgan, who portrays vampire-werewolf hybrid Klaus Mikaelson, is set to make a TVD-The Originals crossover.

TV Guide has confirmed the report but reps from both The CW Network and Warner Bros. are tight-lipped on what makes the Original hybrid go back to Mystic Falls. Caroline Forbes is the obvious reason for Klaus' return where he could try again in winning the affection of the apple of his eye.

Additionally, Tyler (Michael Trevino) chose anger over love when he left Caroline to go after Klaus and get revenge in "The Originals" Episode 7 "Bloodletting" so the villainous hybrid could be planning to reunite with Caroline to hit back at Tyler.

"He's your first love. I intend to be your last," Klaus said to Caroline about Tyler in the "Vampire Diaries" Season 4 finale. "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. on the CW network.
