CW's released synopsis for the upcoming "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5, Episode 13 "Total Eclipse of the Heart" reveals there will be new faces in Mystic Falls. Aussie actress Penelope Mitchell and "I Am Legend" star Caitlin McHugh are both set to join the supernatural TVD gang.

In the next episode, there will be a party in Whitemore College but the party's name does not sound fun at all. Caroline wants to attend the "Bitter Ball" for the broken-hearted students and she also wants Elena and Bonnie to join her.

A new girl on campus named Liv appears to be playing with witchcraft and Bonnie gets intrigued with her. Aussie actress Penelope Mitchell guest stars as the new face in town.

Furthermore, the episode story will focus again on the Augustine society with Dr Wes Maxfield determined to continue his project. Another new face appears on-screen as the new benefactor named Sloan that will help Dr Maxfield and actress Caitlin McHugh guest stars to portray the new character.

The character pairings can be observed as well in this upcoming episode. Nadia (Olga Fonda) will be getting closer to Matt, the bromance of Damon and Enzo will take place as they work on their revenge plan with the help from Bonnie and Jeremy whom they used violence on to make them aid in their plan.

The synopsis for the next episode titled "Total Eclipse of the Heart" in the WetPaint report reads: "Hoping to help everyone move past recent traumatic events, Caroline (Candice Accola) convinces Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Bonnie (Kat Graham) to attend Whitmore College's "Bitter Ball" for broken-hearted students. Bonnie is intrigued with a fellow student named Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell), who appears to be dabbling in witchcraft. Tyler (Michael Trevino) starts to worry about Matt's (Zach Roerig) relationship with Nadia (guest star Olga Fonda). After making a disturbing discovery, Stefan (Paul Wesley) has a frustrating conversation with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo (guest star Michael Malarkey). Dr. Wes (guest star Rick Cosnett) struggles to continue his research project with help from a new benefactor named Sloan (guest star Caitlin McHugh). Still bent on revenge, Damon and Enzo resort to violence to convince Bonnie and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) to help them, but their plan takes an unexpected and horrifying turn."

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 5, Episode 13 "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is scheduled to air on Thursday night, February 6, at 7 p.m. CT or 8 p.m. ET on the CW network.
