The 100th episode in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 seals the milestone of CW network's hit TV series and executive producer Julie Plec teased that someone's fate will be sealed as well in this episode. It has been previously revealed that the 100th episode titled "500 Years of Solitude" focuses on Katherine Pierce (Nina Dobrev) so the fate of the Petrova doppelganger will be the one to get sealed in this episode.

Ms Plec shared in the MTV News report that the geniuses behind the 100th episode wanted it to be really special, fairly game-changing and will have a massive impact. The executive producer further teased that "500 Years of Solitude" felt like a perfect opportunity to seal the fate of Katherine Pierce, Elena's (also Nina Dobrev) evil mirror image.

"I definitely don't know how Katherine is going to get out of this predicament, so there's definitely a lot of celebrating, a little bit of grieving and a lot of self-reflection from Katherine herself as she realizes this seems to be the end," Julie Plec stated. It looks like TVD fans will be placing a box filled with tissue while watching the 100th episode.

"Vampire Diaries" star Candice Accola, who portrays blonde vampire Caroline in the CW series, also teased the fans that the 100th episode will be dedicated to the devoted fans. "You're gonna get so many moments that they've been rooting for and hoping for and we're gonna get to really learn about the root of who Katherine is. You're just gonna learn all about this character who affected all of our favorite characters' lives. It's been very fun to see Katherine, as a human, to suffer from very human ailments," the actress stated.

In the 100th episode, Julie Plec revealed that there will be a "Katherine Pierce drinking game," a handful of surprise cameo appearances and massive relationship twists including Damon's decision when it comes to his future with Elena. "There are some friendly faces that maybe we found a way to work into the episode. We kind of had a family celebration, shooting it, writing it, being here [at the 100th episode party]," Ms Plec shared.

Meanwhile, the E!Online TV Spoiler report had Julie Plec take a look back at the past five seasons of "The Vampire Diaries" and tell what is her "saddest death" in the TV series as well as her "favorite story twist." For the saddest death, the executive producer revealed that it was with the vampire hunter character Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis).

"For me, personally and on the show emotionally, it's Alaric. Matt [Davis] is one of my favorites and it was really sad to see him go. It was really emotional for everyone to shoot as well because it felt like they were all standing there in that cemetery saying goodbye to him," Ms Plec explained.

And for the "favorite story twist," Julie Plec and Nina Dobrev share the same scene from TVD Season 1 finale episode: the part where Katherine showed up in the Gilbert's kitchen and chopped of Uncle John's fingers.

"Kevin [Williamson] pitched that about halfway through season one and we all just fell out of our chairs. I don't know how anybody in television could ever really top that twist, but we've had some doozies," Ms Plec shared. Catch "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 100th episode titled "500 Years Of Solitude" that airs Thursday night, January 23, at 8 p.m. ET on the CW network.
