'Vampire Diaries' Season 5 Spoilers: Stefan-Katherine Romance in Her Deathbed? Watch the Promo Video of Episode 11 '500 Years of Solitude' [VIDEO]
The released promo video of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5, Episode 11 "500 Years of Solitude" focuses on Katherine Pierce's (Nina Dobrev) condition after collapsing in the mid-season finale "Fifty Shades of Grayson." The CW TV series' executive producers Julie Plec and Caroline Dries teased about what could happen next to the Petrova doppelganger in her deathbed including the romantic relationship with Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) when "The Vampire Diaries" resume in 2014.
In the promo video, Katherine has survived another aging issue but she still ended up in her deathbed. Stefan tells Nadia (Olga Fonda) the bad news about her mother living on borrowed time while Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) reminisce the worst things that Katherine did instead of the good memories with Jeremy Gilbert (Steven R McQueen), Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola).
TVD executive producer Julie Plec revealed in the Hollywood Hills report that Katherine will have no one to turn no but Stefan while she is stuck on her deathbed. Will the Stefan-Katherine romance happen in the 100th episode?
The mid-season finale of "The Vampire Diaries" had Katherine and Stefan rolling in the hay but Stefan bluntly tells her that what happened was just a swept-up-in-the-moment one-time thing. Executive producer Caroline Dries sounded off as well on whether Katherine will be able to swoop in and steal Stefan's heart from her death bed.
In an interview with TV Line, Ms Dries teased that a romantic make-out in the hospital bed could happen between Katherine and Stefan. "The 100th episode is Katherine on her death bed. She doesn't have a huge fanbase at the Salvatore house where she is, so Stefan is the person who's there for her. But when you're dying, romance isn't exactly on the front burner," shared the TVD executive producer.
Ms Dries further clarified that Katherine Pierce collapsed because she had a heart attack. The cause of her heart attack apparently comes from her current dilemma of aging after transforming from a 500-year-old vampire to a human being.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 will return with the 100th episode titled "500 Years of Solitude" on January 23, 2014 at 8/7C on the CW network.
