'Vampire Diaries' Season 6 Spoilers: Teaser Trailer Shows Damon Telling Grieving Elena To Move On [WATCH VIDEO]

A teaser trailer for "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 has been released to thrill the waiting fans. The brief promo video showed how Damon's (Ian Somerhalder) death affected Elena (Nina Dobrev) so the older Salvatore vampire tells her to move on.

In the teaser trailer, fans can see that Elena is still grieving over losing Damon when the Other Side collapsed in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 finale. A Hypable report noted down that actress Nina Dobrev teased at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con that the upcoming new season's premiere episode will focus on Elena's mental state following Damon's death.

The next scene in the promo video showed Elena asking Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) on the phone to give her hope. However, Stefan told Elena that Damon is gone and she should say goodbye.

It looks like Elena will have a hard time moving on from Damon's death as she shoved someone and demanded that she needs to see Damon. Another scene in the teaser trailer showed Elena attacking someone indicating that the TVD heroine may have lost control or turned off her humanity.

"Do you know Elena has some sort of witchy drug problem that allows her to hallucinate Damon?" Caroline stated to someone over the phone, most likely Stefan. The ending scene of the teaser trailer showed Damon calling out to Elena and telling her to move on. Have a look at the video below.

Damon Salvatore may be gone after the Other Side collapsed but fans can still see the bad boy vampire in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 6. Actor Ian Somerhalder has teased the millions of fans with a shared Instagram image of himself on the Atlanta set of the CW TV series as the favorite TVD character covered in blood.

"He's back! #DamonSalvatore," the 35-year-old actor posted on his Instagram account iansomerhalder as a caption to Damon's bloody image. Click HERE to see photo.

After the release of the teaser trailer, TVD fans can expect to see more of Elena, Damon, Stefan and the rest of the cast in a longer promo video within the next couple of weeks as well as promotional photos for the brand new season of the show.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 is scheduled to premiere on Thursday night, Oct. 2, at 8 p.m. EST on the CW Network.
