‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 latest trailer teases a sexy and naked Ian Somerhalder
Ian Somerhalder dropped the latest Season 7 trailer of “The Vampire Diaries” on Instagram on Tuesday, and the highlight of the clip is a nude Damon Salvatore.
The 36 year-old-actor uploaded the clip on his Instagram account, teasing, “Why is Damon naked in this new Vampire Diaries Trailer...?”
The clip features a shot of Somerhalder’s character, Damon, in a room with his friend Alaric, played by Matthew Davis. In the video, Damon is seen only wearing a towel around his waist, which he quickly removes and tosses on Alaric’s face, who in turn replies to his friend’s comment, “You know, clothes would be nice.”
This is not the first time that Somerhalder has dared to bare all in “The Vampire Diaries.” In an earlier season of the hit CW series, the actor stripped down during a bubble bath scene, according to MTV. In the scene, Somerhalder’s upper body was covered in bubbles, and the production team utilised clever camera angles to block the view of his body’s lower half.
It also looks like Somerhalder made good on his promise that Season 7 of “The Vampire Diaries” would feature a dark but sexy and fun Damon. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in July, the actor told fans to expect a little nudity in Season 7, and he teased that his character would be “naked in like two episodes.”
“[Damon’s] going to go down some dark paths, but it’s going to be fun. And… a lot of these characters that we remember seeing them in the very beginning of the show was, is that they were fun, they were sexy, they were volatile, they were unpredictable… and it was happening,” the actor revealed.
Apart from Somerhalder’s sexy clip, “The Vampire Diaries” trailer also provides glimpses of some interesting scenes such as Damon waking up in a coffin, Candice Accola-King’s character Caroline having a girl talk with Kat Graham’s Bonnie and Paul Wesley’s character Stefan kissing Caroline.
“The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 premieres on Oct. 8 in the U.S.
