‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 trailer teases ‘Steroline’ love scene, explosions and bloody Mystic Falls
It’s finally out! The CW has released the first official trailer for the upcoming Season 7 of “The Vampire Diaries,” and it’s filled with explosive scenes.
In an E! News exclusive, the one-minute Season 7 trailer is packed with scenes that show an almost warzone-like Mystic Falls with a lot of burning backgrounds, explosions and bloody vampire bites. It also features snippets of the new heretics, family drama and an interesting glance of a “Steroline” love scene.
The steamy scene was only about a second long but it was enough to make the fans hope that Season 7 of “The Vampire Diaries” may feature a more progressive love story between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline. However, those hoping for a Steroline baby may need to wait since it is still unclear whether that will be added to the story, given Candice Accola-King’s pregnancy, who plays Caroline Forbes in the CW series.
Meanwhile, a quick scene between Paul Wesley’s Stefan and brother Damon, played by Ian Somerhalder, also shows Damon calling their mother a “lunatic” while Stefan reveals details of the deal he made with Lily Salvatore (Annie Wersching). He told Damon, "We don't mess with them, they don't mess with us."
Apparently, Wesley was not kidding when he teased that the new heretics will be doing “pretty horrible” things in Mystic Falls this Season 7. It may be the reason why his character decided to strike a deal with them. The clip also shows Accola-King’s Caroline trying to be the voice of reason in the upcoming season.
In the trailer, Caroline tells Stefan that it was a “huge mistake” to hand over Mystic Falls to “a bunch of supernatural terrorists,” to which Stefan responds, “Yeah, probably.” However, Wesley’s character may also be fighting back since a quick scene shows him wanting to learn how to make a bomb as well as clip wherein one actually explodes.
The Season 7 trailer has made fans more excited about the return of the hit CW series on the small screen.
“The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 will premiere on Oct. 8 in the U.S.
