The addition of six new heretics is set to stir things up at Mystic Falls in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7, which promises to add another exciting chapter to the hit CW series.

During a recent visit to the set of “The Vampire Diaries,” TVLine talked to cast members Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan Salvatore, and Elizabeth Blackmore, who is playing one of the new heretics Valerie. Wesley teased that Season 7’s new group of heretics will “do something pretty horrible,” especially in the premiere episode. The actor and director also said that heretics’ actions will make the viewers exclaim, “Really, guys?”

Meanwhile, Blackmore, who is a newcomer to “The Vampire Diaries,” described Season 7 as “really exciting.” She said that the upcoming season would be “pretty far from anything the show has seen so far.” The actress also told TVLine that the heretics will have a “funny” way of adjusting to the modern world after being asleep for so long. Blackmore added, “They’re waking up 100 years in the future where there are iPhones, computers and all that — but there’s also some darkness going on.”

Blackmore also hinted that the heretic community is not without its complexities. Describing her Valerie role, the star said that her character is a loner and that the other female heretics, namely Nora and Mary-Louise, were not always nice to Valerie. Blackmore explained, “There’s a lot of bickering. Valerie is more of a loner because she’s quite often left out of things. She tends to be a little moodier than the others.”

Actresses Teressa Liane and Scarlett Bryne will play the heretics Mary-Louise and Nora. These two characters are also the show’s first same sex couple.

Aside from the three female heretics, three male heretics will also wreak havoc on Mystic Falls. Actors Jaiden Kaine, Justice Leak and Tim Kang will play Beau, Malcolm and Oscar, respectively.

Wesley and Blackmore didn’t share more details about Season 7, although what they spilled is enough to excite the loyal fans of "The Vampire Diaries."

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 is scheduled to premiere on The CW network in the U.S. on Oct. 8.
