Victor Ortiz's Trainer Will Bet On Pinky Finger To Get Cut Off For Pacquiao Against Mayweather, Thinks 'Pacman' Has 'Slipped Less' Than 'Money'
Victor Ortiz's trainer, Joseph "Hoss" Janik, was more than sure to bet on his pinky finger to get cut off for Manny Pacquiao, should the Filipino champion meet Floyd Mayweather anytime soon.
While he admitted that "Money" was superior technically, the undefeated American has slowed down more than "Pacman" did in recent years, so much so that the scales have tilted in the latter's favour.
"A year ago, somebody asked me this, and I picked Floyd even though I'm a bigger Manny fan," he told Fighthype.com.
"I thought Floyd was just gonna be a little too experienced, a little too technical."
"But what I've seen through the two Maidana fights and through Manny's last couple of fights, even when you look at the Marquez fight where he got knocked out, he was fighting excellent."
"He had a good game plan. Everything was working out OK, he just ran into a shot. That's one of the risks in boxing. But I think Manny has slipped less than Floyd has."
"So, I think if...you're gonna ask the guys in the gym...'who do you think is gonna win?' And then they'll say pinky. Because I have a saying: 'we can bet a hundred dollars, we can bet a thousand dollars, if you really want to ask me who is going to win, let's bet pinkies.' We'll cut off the pinky of the guy that loses. So, my pinky bet would be Pacquiao."
"I think Pacquiao has a little bit more left, hasn't slipped as much. And, Floyd hates speed, Floyd hates lefties. So, I would go with Pacquiao."

When asked how Mayweather fared in his back-to-back meetings with Marcos Maidana, Janik was rather unsatisfied.
"Not saying that he didn't look rather good in both fights, but feet were a little slower," he continued.
"You know, he claims that he wants to stand in the pocket and make it a little bit more crowd pleasing. I don't personally believe that he's the only one that knows that but I think it's just, as we all do, you start getting a little older, you start slowing down a little bit, and you have to sit a little bit more."
"So, his inches that he used to be able to control are becoming fractions of inches now. So with Manny's speed, angles, awkward punching...Manny doesn't throw any of his punches technically correct, but they work perfectly for him."
Pacquiao, on the other hand, showed glimpses of his old dominating self in the Chris Algieri fight, but Janik gave an objective feedback, stating that the the five-foot-ten American was just not in the class as the fighting congressman's.
"I think it's kinda hard to see where Manny is exactly in the Chris fight. Chris is a good fighter, but different levels," he opined.
"I think Manny's an A-level fighter. There's 20, 25 guys the game that are A-level fighters, and there's guys that are good B-level fighters."
