Victoria Beckham took to her Instagram page on Tuesday to share her photo dressed as a minion. The post came after her husband, David, was criticised for allowing their youngest child, Harper, to use a dummy.

Instead of responding to the dummy debate, Victoria took a light-hearted approach and shared her Instagram photo along with the caption, “What can I say? I was inspired x vb #Minions.” Her post has since received over 134,ooo likes as of writing this article. However, the fashion designer is yet to comment on the criticisms hurled at David after he was photographed with the four-year old Harper sucking on a pacifier.

David has since lashed out at the critics with an Instagram post he shared on Tuesday. The 40-year old reminded them to think twice before judging someone’s parenting skills.

“Why do people feel they have the right to criticize a parent about their own children without having any facts ??” he wrote. “Everybody who has children knows that when they aren't feeling well or have a fever you do what comforts them best and most of the time it's a pacifier so those who criticize think twice about what you say about other people's children because actually you have no right to criticize me as a parent ...,” David added on his Instagram post, which he captioned to his photo with Harper.

David’s post has since received over 618,000 likes and it also earned him the support of parenting expert Sue Atkins, who instead of criticising David, complimented him for his “joyous” family photo.

In a guest appearance on This Morning show (video below), Atkins shared her agreement with David’s choice of the pacifier for Harper since it reportedly gives the child security. Atkins said the dummy also helps the child sleep at night, according to Mirror UK .

Mirror UK reports that David’s Instagram rant was directed at an article written by Jemma Buckley for the Daily Mail. The report had cited experts who warned David and Victoria about the possible dangers of letting a four-year old use a pacifier. Harper could reportedly end up having “speech or dental issues” if she continues using the dummy.
