New characters got introduced in “Once Upon a Time” Season 4 and Cruella de Vil is one of them. In a recent interview, actress Victoria Smurfit talked about being the villain in the ABC fairy tale drama series.
Smurfit, 41, shared in an Access Hollywood interview that Cruella de Vil’s costume piece in “Once Upon a Time” Season 4 says it all. “It's just got all the drama and the wealth and sort of the character's denial of her ordinariness just built into one extraordinary coat,” Smurfit shared.
The "OUAT" star revealed she received a phone call from her agent telling the news on the role the TV series executive producers want her to portray. The agent initially told Smurfit she will portray a character named “Sasha.”
Smurfit recounted she found out from executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis the character she will really portray in the second half of “Once Upon a Time” Season 4. The actress shared the "OUAT" big bosses finally told her she will be portraying Cruella de Vil and she nearly fell off her seat because she did not get the part when she auditioned for the role of Cruella in a Disney project before.
“I just loved her and to get the opportunity to play her was just crazy,” Smurfit shared. Then the actress talked about the threat Cruella and Ursula (Merrin Dungey) received from Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) in “Once Upon a Time” Season 4, episode 13 titled “Darkness on the Edge of Town.”
Smurfit thinks the “Queens of Darkness” should take Snow White and Prince Charming’s threat seriously because the two characters are powerful heroes. Meanwhile, “Once Upon a Time” cast member Dallas shared in a Variety interview that Snow White and Prince Charming’s secret may change the viewers’ perspective on the fairy tale couple.
Dallas teased the secret Snow White and Prince Charming have been keeping for a long time starts to surface with the arrival of the “Queens of Darkness” in Storybrooke. The 33-year-old “Thor” actor further added the dark secret will force Mary Margaret/Snow White and David/Prince Charming to make certain decisions.
“You’re gonna have to keep watching,” the actor teased. “Once Upon a Time” Season 4 airs on Sunday nights at 8/7c on ABC.
