The Voice Australia 2012: Delta Goodrem Chooses ‘Public Vote’ Favorite Rachael Leahcar for Final Four
Ratings Improve Past 2M as Final Four Revealed
Rachael Leahcar, Sarah De Bono, Darren Percival, and Karise Eden make up the Final Four of the first season of The Voice Australia, which got 2.13 million viewers Monday.
After dipping to under-two-million viewership last week, The Voice came back strong as the Final Four was revealed.
Only one contestant per team will move forward to next week's 2-part grand finale. The suspenseful announcement gave Channel Nine a 29.6 per cent channel share. In contrast, Seven got 21.0 per cent.
Rachael Leahcar got in from Team Delta Goodrem. The only female judge was torn between Leahcar and her former back-up singer, Glen Cunningham. In the end, she chose Leahcar who has always got in by public vote.
Sarah De Bono has also been a consistent favorite, so Joel Madden did not stress much on making his choice.
Darren Percival was Team Keith Urban's top contender, although Diana Rouvas gave a stronger performance Monday night. Urban noted the industry needs more than just voice and personality.
Karise Eden got through from Team Seal. Her competition in the team, Fatai V, has managed to build a solid fan base so a lot were disappointed over Seal's choice.
The first part of the finale will air live on Channel Nine on Sunday, with the second part airing the next night. Australia is only a week away from crowning its first ever The Voice champ.
Can the The Voice ratings jump to a million more for the finale shows?
Meanwhile, the Aussie audience has caught The Voice host Darren McMullen swearing on Monday's show, and news have come out that the network bosses were definitely not pleased about it.
"Darren has just gotten to become too much of a headache," according to a newspaper's source.
Asked if there was any truth to rumors that Darren will be replaced next season, a spokesperson from Nine told the Herald Sun, "No replacement for Darren."
Now here are some of the tweets shouted out by The Voice viewers after Monday night's show:
@cameron_adams: Keith Urban is the real winner from The Voice. Australia has belatedly discovered how smart he is #thevoiceau
@_euroindie: making it my mission tonight to listen to every song lakyn heperi from the voice australia has on the internet
