“The Voice” Australia is looking for kids. The Nine Network has announced the creation of the hit singing show’s spin-off that will focus on Aussie kids aged between 8 and 14.

Produced by Shine Australia, “The Voice Kids” will be aired in 2014, and will search the best young singer. It will follow the same format as the original show and other international versions of the “Voice Kids.” Contestants will go through the same blind auditions and battle rounds and showdowns.

Kids from all over Australia may apply if they are at least eight years old by Jan 1, 2014, and not older than 14 by Nov 30, 2014.

Although the live auditions will be held in major cities around the country, every contestant must still register online because there are a limited number of applicants that will be invited to a particular session. For those who live more than 200km outside the audition city, they can upload of their singing on YouTube, and past the link in the form.

No coaches have been announced yet, but like “The Voice Australia,” Nine and Shine are expected to invite local and overseas performers. They are also apparently looking for those who have experience on stage as both a child and adult.

“The Voice has been an incredible success for Nine and we look forward to The Voice Kids shining a light on the enormous pool of undiscovered young talent this country has to offer,” Nine’s director of television, Michael Healy, has been quoted by the Sydney Morning Herald as saying.

Added Julie Ward, Shine’s director of entertainment and executive producer of The Voice, “We are excited to open The Voice stage up to the next generation of great Australian talent.

“We are confident that there are amazing young singers who will benefit from the unique experience of being part of The Voice and we want to see them register to audition.”

Those who are interested to register should go to www.thevoice.com.au.

“The Voice” season 2 has just concluded on June 17, with 18-year-old Melbourne resident Harrison Craig declared as the winner. The show will also be back in 2014 for its 3rd season.
