“Big Brother Australia” has had another birthday party; this time, it’s Xavier’s 28th year on earth. The birthday boy had a polarising day, going from teary sad to running naked-happy. Also, Jasmin kissed Ed, which made Jade cry!

But first, Ben is proving to be a very strong contender in the house. He may be meek and even nerdy, but beneath his mild-mannered appearance lies a strong character. While Tully and Xavier cried their eyes out after being stuck in the Halfway house yet again, the 30-year-old QLD resident just quietly talked to his mum and Nanna’s pictures about his new living accommodation in the house.

The housemates who voted for Ben for eviction apparently just wanted to see him out of his comfort zone, which Mikkayla pointed as much to him. Ben took his nomination in stride, even joking about his new life to Big Brother in the Diary Room.

Tully, meanwhile, was as upset as expected. As Tim noted, Tully didn’t pull as much drama when she was in the Safe house. It’s only when she was thrust back into the Halfway house that she pulled off her histrionic display yet again. And it’s driving the other housemates mad! She claimed that more than her nomination, it’s the fact that she was stuck with the other nominees that was upsetting. She called her predicament the “worst case scenario.”

Xavier was also distraught in the morning after the nomination night. He had a reason, though. It was his birthday and he got to spend it in the poorer side of the Divide. Big Brother gave him a party, though. The faceless voice provided the housemates Xavier’s favourite party food, including potato chips and popcorn.

Xavier then received a birthday card from his mum. The touching message not only brought tears to his eyes, but to other housemates’ as well. After sharing a meal, the housemates then dived into the pool fully clothed, then squeezed themselves in the spa tub all together, including the squeamish Ben!

All seemed to retire happy that night, except for Jade, who witnessed Jasmin kissed Ed. Jade cried her eyes out in the bedroom, apparently hurt that Jasmin broke the “girl code” for kissing her man. For Jade, she claimed it was all in good fun, but perhaps he was just saving Ed from Jade’s clutches.

It can be remembered that it was Jasmin whom Ed opened up about his true feelings for Jade, saying that the 23-year-old barmaid just wasn’t his type.

So is this the start of EdMin (Ed + Jasmin)? Or will JadEd still push through? But how about Drade (Drew + Jade)?

Jade is apparently back to flirting with former fake husband Drew after bawling over Jasmin’s alleged betrayal. And as Tahan told Big Brother in the Diary Room, Jade is playing with fire, and one of the boys might get hurt.

In a déjà vu moment, Big Brother once again offered Tim a choice between eating his favourite ice cream or giving Tahan her beloved hair dryer back. And once again, Tim chose the ice cream. Tahan really wanted her hair dryer back, but she was able to see the humour in the situation, crying and laughing at the same time at Tim’s uncaring attitude.

The nomination list isn’t final yet. As Big Brother told the housemates, one of the nominees will swap places with one of the Safe housemates on Thursday, which means Tahan, Tully, Xavier, Rohan, Ben, and Mikkayla still have a chance to be saved for one more week.

Who is it going to be? We’ll find out soon, but not before the housemates greet the arrival of Mr George Clooney, the house’s new pet dog, with a red carpet treatment.
