‘The Voice’ Season 9 coaches Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani are officially dating
Singer-songwriters Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are officially dating each other after months of working together as coaches in NBC’s “The Voice” Season 9.
Shelton’s representative Wes Vause confirmed the news to USA Today on Friday. The confirmation follows the extensive rumours that the two artists are having a romance. Both the artists have been separated from their respective spouses for months. Shelton, 39, divorced country artist Miranda Lambert in July, while Stefani, 46, split with “Bush” vocalist Gavin Rossdale in August.
Shelton and Stefani were spotted holding hands while walking in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday. According to Entertainment Tonight, the pair was walking between the VIP and main areas of the Warner Music Group Country Music Association (CMA) after-party with drinks in hand.
The photo was captured after Shelton attended the CMA Awards night, where he performed a rendition of his song “Gonna.” Shelton also shared the same stage with his ex-wife Lambert, who performed “Bathroom Sink” and won the Female Vocalist of the Year award.
People reported that Shelton and Stefani have penned a song together. A source said the song is a mid-tempo country ballad about telling a lover to leave the relationship if that is what he or she truly wants.
Both the singers have remained quiet about their relationship.
On Wednesday, Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine uploaded a selfie with his fellow “The Voice” coaches Shelton and Stefani on Facebook. In the photo, Stefani is seen in the middle of Shelton and Levine with the caption, “Family. (Blake is the stepbrother).”
One of Levine’s fans commented “Glad Blake and Gwen went public.....better than trying to hide out,” while another said “It's a cover up. We see the way Adam and Blake look at each other on the voice. Gwen is just a diversion.” Levine and Shelton are the remaining original coaches of “The Voice” and are famous for their “bromance” on the show.
Meanwhile, Lambert has posted a postive message to her fans on Facebook, following the revelation of Shelton’s newly found love. A source told E! News that the country singer was not surprised about the romance going on between her ex-husband and Stefani.
“Horse Power,” she wrote. “I'm still floating around on a cloud from last night. Thank you so much @cma for celebrating country music in a big way and for letting me be part of it. Today was a day spent reflecting on this amazing life that Nashville and country music fans have given me.”
