The zombies are back and they are gearing for domination everywhere and in every medium.

The string of zombie attacks is led by the upcoming sequel to The Walking Dead video game. Comics Alliance reports that TellTale Games, the developers of the first season games, has confirmed a sequel that's still based on the comic series by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.

"We're going to continue to work on it. It's a rich world for what we're trying to do. We still have a lot of ideas to explore in that world," said TellTale Games CEO and co-founder Dan Connors to Comics Alliance.

Gamers can expect a deeper view into the stories of the comic, at the same time remaining as a good complement to the hit TV series that's been making waves.

Talks about the season two follow up has been in the works since late last year as Digital Trends reports of the certainty of a Season Two from The Walking Dead: The Game Episode 4 writer Garry Whitta.

"Season Two is definitely happening; it's a matter of when, not if," said Whitta to Digital Trends.

The series' return last Sunday night set a record of 12.3 million viewers as well as 7.7 million for advertising, according to The New York Times.

It doesn't end there as The Walking Dead game also dominated the list of nominees for the 2013 BAFTA Games Awards, report Metro.

This year's list seems to be packed with indie titles, starting with Journey, garnering eight nominations. The Walking Dead was a close second with seven nominations including Best Game, Game Design, Original Music, and Story.

Catch the BAFTA Awards on March 5 to see if The Walking Dead fever continues to spread. It will be available live on Challenge on Monday, March 11.
