“The Walking Dead” fans are anticipating Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s addition to the hit AMC series as he set to play the villain Negan. The actor has been very excited with the role, although he shared in a recent interview that the character’s propensity for cursing might be an issue.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Morgan shared that he was very familiar with “The Walking Dead’s” character Negan since he started reading up on creator Robert Kirkman’s comic books even before he was offered the role. He shared, “I started reading the comic books just because I’m a fan and I love what Kirkman is doing and so I was very aware of Negan and had read quite a bit of the comic books.”

He also mentioned that he’s excited about portraying Negan in “The Walking Dead” series and is already looking forward to doing the role. Morgan told Entertainment Weekly, “I can’t tell you the last time I’ve been this giddy about doing a role. I think what’s there in the comic books and the graphic novels is this foundation of this man and the complexities of who he is.”

Morgan also revealed during his Entertainment Weekly interview that “The Walking Dead” team will try to keep Negan “as close as humanly possible” to the character in the comic books. However, he admitted that Negan’s colorful language may become a “speed bump” that needs to be worked on.

“I’m not going to say it’s an issue because they’re working on it,” he added. “We’re going to push AMC — the plan is to push them as far as they can because it’s who Negan is. He uses some colorful language. And I use some colorful language. And reading the comic, it’s important. So we’ll see where that lands.”

Meanwhile, fans are already looking forward to seeing Morgan in the upcoming “The Walking Dead” season 6B. Previous speculations mentioned that Anthony Lincoln’s Rick Grimes and his gang will meet Negan towards the latter part of season 6B. However, a TVLine “The Walking Dead” scoop hinted that Negan will make his appearance during the April 3, 2016 episode of the series.

“The Walking Dead” season 6B will premiere in the USsc on February 2016.
