‘The Walking Dead’ season 8: Glenn could make a possible return
“The Walking Dead” season 8 is expected to be better and more action-packed than its predecessor despite the fact that some of the show’s favourite characters will be no longer be around for the All Out War. But one of the series’ deceased pioneers could make a possible return next season, according to the actor who portrayed the character. As long as the whole thing won’t be forced, the actor says he’s “totally down.”
Spoiler alert: This article contains plot details about the eighth season of “The Walking Dead,” which will premiere in October of this year. Australian viewers will be available to watch the new season on Foxtel.
Steven Yeun’s character on “The Walking Dead” was put out of his misery in a shocking and brutal manner by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). The Saviours’ leader beat Glenn’s head repeatedly to a pulp with Lucille, his barbwire-covered baseball bat. Making things worse is the fact that the barbaric manslaughter happened right in front of Glenn’s friends and wife, Maggie (Lauren Cohan).
Glenn is a fan favourite, and according to Yeun, he doesn’t mind returning to the show under the right circumstances. He owes the series for setting his career in motion. Before his big zombie apocalypse break, the actor did stage plays in Chicago in addition to improv and sketch comedy.
“I will leave it open to what makes sense,” said Yeun regarding a possible season 8 appearance (as quoted by The Daily Telegraph). “I wouldn’t want anybody to force anything but if it makes sense, then I am totally down.”
Yeun’s star has never been brighter as it is now, and things are only going to get better for the actor. He is set to lead an ensemble cast that includes Kelly Clarkson, Keegan-Michael Key, Kristin Chenoweth, Anthony Anderson, Zachary Levi, Oprah Winfrey and Tracy Morgan on the upcoming 3D animated comedy movie by director Timothy Reckart called “The Star.” He is also set to play the lead character of Tony Chu on the upcoming comicbook-based crime film entitled “Chew.”
Yeun’s last scene on “The Walking Dead” was a touching one. It was an idyllic moment for Glenn and the rest of the Alexandrians at a dinner table. Glenn was shown holding his and Maggie’s son.
Michael Cudlitz’s Abraham, who was killed just moments before Glenn, was also there on Yeun’s final moments on the show. Cudlitz later appeared on the season finale, however, on flashback sequences. And that’s the only logical way that Yeun will be shown if ever he makes a comeback on “The Walking Dead” season 8: through flashbacks or dream sequences.
