Want to Drive a Ferrari? Join Dubai’s Police Department
United Arab Emirates residents who love fast cars but can't afford one, could try enlisting in Dubai's police department. Applicants with love for speed would have their fantasies come true since the city's police force just bought new Ferraris to augment its fleet of Lamborghini's rolled out just two weeks ago.
With a price tag of $300,000, the Ferrari FF has a V12 engine that zooms at 208 miles per hour and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.
Here is a test drive of the Ferrari FF to give readers an idea how fast the car moves.
Sporting a green and white colour like the Lamborghini Aventador which was unveiled on April 11, the Ferrari police car was officially introduced to the public on Thursday at a ceremony in Burj al-Khalifa, the tallest building in the world.
"Dubai is a unique city and everything in it should reflect its uniqueness and for that reason police will add a Ferrari sports car to its patrol fleet," Dubai Police Chief Lt Gen Dhahhi Khalfan Tamim said.
"We have been pleasantly surprised for the reaction of people on the Lamborghini, so we said a Ferrari would be a good choice too," he added.
The purchase of the two race cars is part of Dubai's efforts to keep up with filthy rich young male drivers in UAE who have a penchant for racing their expensive and fast vehicles on the city's highways.
However, those who want to drive the Ferrari as police officers better be females since the Police Department plans to issue it to women officers to patrol Dubai's tourist destinations.
In case there are two Dubai police cars chasing a speed devil, which car would get first to the lawbreaker - the male-driven Lamborghini or the female-driven Ferrari?
This video should give a clue which is the faster car.
