Watch: Conor McGregor jokes not even Jesus could beat him in the Octagon
UFC interim featherweight champion Conor McGregor thinks he could beat anybody in the Octagon, including Jesus Christ.
In an interview with TMZ Sports, McGregor joked that he would “whoop” Jesus’ a—" in the Octagon, insisting that no man alive could beat him. McGregor has been known for making bold predictions.
McGregor also revealed he would like to climb into the lightweight division after he defeats Aldo in their unification title bout at UFC 194 on Dec. 12 in Las Vegas. “The Notorious” believes he could beat lightweight titleholder Rafael dos Anjos, who defends his belt against Donald Cerrone at UFC on Fox 17 in Rolando.
"I feel like it's almost set in stone -- KO Jose and KO whoever holds that lightweight belt," McGregor said, reports MMA Fighting. "And within the next two fights, I will be a two-weight world champion once again. But this time within the UFC."
McGregor held both belts under the Cage Warriors banner in Cage Warriors, but the Irish brawler needs to overcome first Aldo, who stated he is “100 percent” ready to show up at UFC 194.
Aldo was supposed to fight McGregor at UFC 189 in July, but a rib injury forced “Scarface” to withdraw from the fight. But this time, Aldo said he is prepared to settle the score with McGregor and walk away as the undisputed featherweight champion.
“There’s really no difference [between this fight and my others]; you’re going to see me go in there and get the win,” Aldo said, reports MMA Junkie. “Really the only difference is I always beat Americans and this time I’m going to beat an Irishman.”
