Last Monday afternoon, professional golfer Tiger Woods did something that nobody expected him to do. He announced via his Facebook account that he is in a relationship with another athlete, Lindsey Vonn.

Just when the public was speculating about his rekindled relationship with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, Tiger Woods had to break his silence and revealed the truth behind his love life. He posted several pictures of himself together with new girlfriend Lindsey Vonn on his Facebook. Along with the pictures, Woods said that he would like to keep his relationship with the ski racer private.

"Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy," Tiger said. "We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."

Well there must be some reason why there's a sudden revelation from Tiger just after Elin was rumored to be dating mining billionaire Chris Cline. During a press conference last Wednesday, he addressed the matter on why he chose to reveal his relationship with Vonn. Tiger said that majority of the decision was because of the paparazzi.

"We're very happy where we're at, but also we wanted to limit the stalkerazzi and all those sleazy websites that are out there following us. I've had situations where it's been very dangerous for my kids and the extent they'll go to," Woods explained

Woods added that by him releasing their "couple photos" first, it devalued the first photos that the paparazzi were trying to sell to magazines or websites.

It looks like the revelation was a combined effort for the couple. In a separate post, Lindsey Vonn used her Facebook account to share the news to her fans.

"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support! xo LV," the ski racer said.
