The MacBook Pro line still stands to receive a Intel Haswell upgrade. Its relatives including the latest MacBook Air and iMacs now run on Intel's fourth generation Haswell. Best known for power efficiency and extending battery life, the chipset can do wonders for the MacBook Pro. Yet that is not the only interesting point about the upcoming line. Reports suggest people also want to see a 17-inch MacBook Pro.

Can it be just like the old times?

Many reports cited the launch of the 2013 MacBook Pro this Oct. Whether Apple's delay of the new MacBook Pro will be beneficial to the company or not remains a question. Its gold iPhone series and newest handsets are selling far better than expected. It may not be difficult to see the same success on MacBooks.

After all, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro remain as one of the best on the market. With the entire buzz around the refreshed line of Macs, people want to see Haswell in this latest product line. A Haswell processor can improve the battery life by as much as 70 to 80%. Extended computing powers can do a lot for Apple's laptop.

Whereas there are many things people like to see in the new line, there are also many wishing they can see a 17-inch Haswell MacBook Pro. According to a report by Product Reviews, there seems to be an increasing demand for a 17-inch mode without the Retina.

The 17-inch model can cater better to professional users needing the optical drive. The report suggested that many users can benefit from having a more heavy-duty device. Similar to the original 17-inch, the report also revealed that people will be pleased to see the speakers with considerable improvements. It would be great for the speakers to have better and louder sound quality.

Apple has not released any details about the MacBook Pro enough to confirm all the features that people can find in it. The market will have to wait until the company releases an official announcement. Nonetheless it is worth a thought.

Will a 17-inch MacBook Pro plus optical drive be a good offering?
